2020 - The Metal Year
Dealing with the coronavirus pandemic this year has been a massive challenge for so many people, all over the world. As a painter my work is usually pretty solitary so I considered myself extremely fortunate in that I am used to being isolated; and having my painting to occupy me during the lockdown.
These works were an attempt to understand what was going on, from a wider perspective. I was thinking about the metal element (inspired by my years working as a healer and drawing on my knowledge of energy work and the Chinese five element system); it was, and still is, the overriding energy affecting us all this year.
