I began this painting in March 2020 just as the pandemic was taking hold. We were all having to adjust rapidly to a new way of being. It was a scary time and I remember feeling hopeless about the state of the world. As a painter I was very fortunate to have the discipline of showing up, keeping going and having something to occupy me. I was surprised and delighted that this painting ended up being so hopeful!
